Hill Tree Roastery - Cafe Manager - Madison, WV

Hill Tree Roastery is growing, and we're looking for a Cafe Manager to lead our newest location opening this October.

We need a leader who can balance operations with craft. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage the shop and work shifts on the bar. We want someone who takes pride in a seamless operation but is equally excited to jump behind the bar, talk tasting notes with customers, and support the team when things get busy.

Hill Tree Roastery has been growing from our roots as a local coffee roaster into a broader coffee company offering cafe operations, wholesale coffee, barista training, consulting, and other coffee services. Our next location is another important step in that growth, and we're looking for the right person to help us lead it.

What You'll Do
As Cafe Manager, you'll take ownership of the daily operation of the cafe and the experience our customers and employees have there.
You'll be responsible for:
●      Leading and supporting the cafe team.
●      Creating employee schedules and managing daily staffing.
●      Maintaining excellent customer service.
●      Making sure drinks are prepared consistently and correctly.
●      Managing inventory and keeping products and supplies stocked.
●      Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming cafe.
●      Overseeing POS procedures and cash handling.
●      Monitoring labor, waste, and day-to-day operating performance.
●      Handling customer concerns and helping solve problems as they arise.
●      Communicating regularly with ownership about the needs and performance of the location.
This is a hands-on management position. We want a manager who is comfortable leading the team while also working alongside them.

Who We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
●      Have previous management or supervisory experience in coffee, restaurants, hospitality, retail, or a similar environment.
●      Enjoy developing and motivating a team.
●      Are organized, dependable, and comfortable making decisions.
●      Understand that great hospitality is about more than completing a transaction.
●      Notice the details and take care of things before someone has to ask.
●      Can stay calm and lead effectively during a busy rush.
●      Take ownership when something isn't working and help find a solution.
●      Enjoy coffee and are interested in continuing to learn about it.
Previous coffee experience is a plus, but strong leadership, reliability, and the ability to learn are even more important.
